This aircraft company was established in Croydon in 1929 and the G-ABNX was one of twelve planes designed by a firm the firm at Croydon Airport, which London's Airport at that time. The high cost of operating from Croydon meant the company made a move to Gatwick Airport.

The plane was sold several times and spent its time in World War 2 in Scotland. In 1947 the company bought the plane and donated it to the Chelsea College of Aeronautical Engineering, which was based at Redhill Aerodrome. It was the lost for several years until found again in a Surrey Barn in 1959, and purchased for just £10.
